a lot fo newbie questions ...
A lot of "newbie" questions:
1) Supplies and desease: which is the chance that a given unit get starvation and/or disease
if you lack supplies ? And which is the chance a unit get disesed if spent a turn in a
C'tis Miasma dominion province ?
2) Magic sites: some one knows now the real numbers (terrain dependent) affecting the chance to have a magic site
in a province ?
3) Army Setup: How many squares is the battlefield big ? I know there are
10 squares from the front of the two enemy armies ...
4) Does any one now knows how precision really works, which is the effect of the range and so on ?
5) Morale and Route: does anyone now knows which is the "size dependent" effect on a squad morale ? If a unit/squad start to route there is
a possibility to recover it ? If you fail a morale check, how many points does your morale goes down ?
6) Does units reatreating in a open field battle retreat in the fortress if there is a fortress in that province ?
7) Spells: Is Zen close to finish is guide to spell ?
thank you and good play

Re: a lot fo newbie questions ...
1) Not sure. You must be starving to get a disease. It is dependent on army size, supplies and how many units dont get to eat. It's a bit random IIRC.
Miasma is a percentage * dominion strength. Not sure of the numbers right now.
2) I think it is +20 for waste, +10 for forest/mountain/swamp, -20 farm. It was a while since I checked and I might be wrong on the numbers. There might be a mountain/swamp between waste and forest making it 30/20/10. I think there is a thread about it somewhere.
3) Not sure. Press 'g' to activate the grid.
4) No
5) Morale is uncertain to us all. No one knows how it works. Your troops will not rally under any circumstances. Morale goes down by one two or perhaps three steps (the unit does not loose morale stat but the squad accumulates morale losses) depending on the failure of the test. Cowards often cause greater morale losses than brave ones. Beware of militia and starving troops.
6) Can't remember. If they don't it might be added.
7) Zen might know
Edit: This was not a very helpful answer. Sorry.

Re: a lot fo newbie questions ...
I have a question to add to that list.
If an immortal pretender has a global enchantment and dies in friendly dominion does the global enchantment go poof because they do when a caster dies but not sure how it works with immortals.

6) In my experience, they scatter to neighboring provinces, no matter if they lead a sortie or attack a besieging party.

Re: a lot fo newbie questions ...
I believe it remains, but I'm not sure on this either.
JK might know, but he's out of town.

So, at the present ...
1) Supplies and desease: which is the chance that a given unit get starvation and/or disease
if you lack supplies ?

I notice that sometimes, if there is a really lack of supplies, units get diseased in one turn ...

Re: a lot fo newbie questions ...
I might add a question:
Does Fire resistance work against the flame helmets -3 reinvigoration?

Re: a lot fo newbie questions ...
Fire Resistance does not apply to the Flame Helmets Negative Reinvigoration.
As for Liga. The BQR and RQR are waiting on Johan's return for some somewhat minor specifics to be filled in. There is a new Version of the MIQR and SCQR in the process of being PDF'd, when it is compelete I'll linkem up.
Bruce said I'm a perfectionist but we all know by now I'm hardly perfect.

Re: a lot fo newbie questions ...
Here's a (oh so terribly hypothetical ) question:
Suppose one selects a nation (e.g. marignon) with a particular climate preference (in this case temp=0)
If one were then to pick a theme that requires a particular temp setting (e.g., fires of the faith where temp is at least heat1) does this mean the optimal income preference of the nation is now heat1, or are you just being forced to deviate from the still optimal temp0?
now FotF theme costs 50 points, which is offset in part by the heat1 giving back 40 points, but this return is only genuine if the income set point has changed.
Is this the case?
If not, what exactly is the benefit of FotF? Auto-level1 preaching (in owned provinces?) is okay, but hardly worth 50 points straight up, especially since you can only pick one theme.
How does it work and what am I missing here?
Thanks,
Rabe the Suppostitionally Sweltering
