Hmmm... Just switched over from Mozilla to Firefox, since Mozilla.org seems to be pushing it a bit harder, and so far I like it. Only problem is, I got Thunderbird as an email client since it looked all nice and fancy, but it doesn't seem to be able to import my old emails & settings from Mozilla. What's that all about?

It should be able to fairly easily... It is pretty much the same program as the mail client in Mozilla, after all. Never used the mail client in Mozilla before, so can't really help you any...

I normally use Opera, this thread convinced me to give FireFox a try. Its great, really nice. Fast, Efficient, less cluttered looking than Opera.

The extension cabilities in FireFox are very nice. After a little searching I was able to find an extension that would allow me pick up where I left off when I Last closed FireFox, like I can in Opera. Without this ability I would be staying with Opera.

Opera needs some hand-made tweaks to provide maximum viewing area. And it has much more flexibility in interface customisation than _default_ FF setup.

That doesn't particularly matter, given the ease of installing various extensions which expand such things...

Actually it does. FF is advertized as IE-killer, so its main auditory is a computer illiterate part of the internet Users (about 90% of total amount of Users). They'll hardly download and install extensions. They are typically interested in the features out of the box.

Pfft. Firefox is just Mozilla, stripped down and with useful things like a complete preferences dialog cut out. Funny thing is it really isn't any faster.

I don't think it's supposed to be faster in terms of how long it takes Page X to load. The main goal was to reduce the overall footprint, both on disk and in memory. By removing all the integrated components, the browser can have only the components it needs to use in memory (eg. no use having the mail client loaded and ready for mailto: links if you only use webmail, etc). So, it's minutely faster because there is less stuff in memory to go through, but that is more a product of the overall system being faster because of reduced memory usage.

So, short Version: Firefox = Mozilla - bloat.
