Default Mod Madness

I am having difficulty utilizing the TDM modpack. Yes I am a virgin. I downloaded, unzipped, and have checked the new files and they have all seemed to have updated (checking the date). But I do not see them in the game.

I am doing something wrong and would love to find out what.

Thanks in advance.

1. Did you start a new game after adding the mods?

2. Did you just overwrite the original installation files or make a mod directory that you can make the game point to and use?
If you made the mod directory then you must adjust where the game looks for the files you added.
Look at ;
\Shrapnel Games\Malfador Machinations\Space Empires IV\path.txt

the instructions are in that file.

1) I started a new game and looked for the new races. They were not there. I
have also tried this in the past with previous patch/mod's and never got a
mod race to appear.

2) The files were automatically overwritten (I think) because I checked the
dates on the files and they were the new date when I unzipped the mod files.

I tried replacing the old path file with the new mod path file. That didn't
seem to help either.

Go to the folder where SE4 is. You should
see a folder called "TDM-ModPack". If you
don't, try extracting the latest Version of
TDM-ModPack again. Extract each of the 3 files, you might not need the patch, into the SE4 folder(where gameis).
Then check the "path" file that is below the TDMPack. It should say

Using
/ModPack
if it says "None", you did not extract the
3 (or2) files 175 1 of 2, 175, 2 of 2
into SE4 folder. It automatically updates the path files when extracting.
If you double click on modpack, you will see "original path".
To check race files,
go to SE4/ModPack/Pictures/Races
The new race names should be in Races along with old ones. If not try extracting 175 TDM files one at a time into SE4.
Do that and the races will be there.
The game will now follow the path ModPack

Try it
