Below is a rant over the bad ruling the US Supreme Court made regarding Property Owner Rights against government seizures. If this rant offends any one please be advised that it was not my intent to offend you or insult you in any way. If you offend easily then please do not read past this point. Thank you. In response to the US Supreme Courts ruling that supports the unconstitutional seizure of private property by government under the bribable excuse of "in the publics better interest," I dedicate this letter.

The US Supreme Court's endeavors have been getting a lot of deserved negative attention recently. Let's start with my claim that some people don't seem to mind that The US Supreme Court has just spat upon the US Constitution and blatantly lied about why it has done so. What a benighted world we live in! While I do question The US Supreme Court's motives, it is easy to understand their point of view, greed. Greed is good for the economy, greed is good for the pocket book, and greed is good for growth, which in turn is again good for the economy. As far back as I can remember The US Supreme Court has stood for what was honorable about America. However this most recent ruling, coupled with a few more questionable rulings of late that directly interfere with the voted in desires of many states, has brought me to the precipice of questioning the absolute moral and personal motivations of many of the Justices on the Supreme Court. You know, it strikes me that I have traveled the length and breadth of this country and talked with the best people about many of the topics that have come and gone over the years. However this latest one, the ruling that paves the way for mobster motivated socialistic approach to seizing a persons property under the unbelievably corruptible guise that its in the best interests of the public has taken the faith I had in democracy and flushed it right down the toilet of a Nazi German Gestapo head quarters toilet. If you think about it, only a naïve population would allow people who live without any sense of limits in charge of guarding the henhouse and then be shocked when the foxes eat the hens.

There is no sadder truth in this instance, that proves that the pen is truly mightier than the sword in so much as it has, at the hands of the Supreme Court, just signed away one of our nations most fundamental beliefs, that we are protected from illegal search and seizures. Now any contractor with a politician in his pocket and money to be made can force you out of your home for pennies on the dollar by simply having the government seize your property for the betterment of the public, and without a doubt, not a single court in the land will hear your case because in the end, they know that you are fighting a lost cause.

I can only speculate at the level of corruption that has led to this ruling. I sit here typing this post wondering how many of the Justices own construction, and or other related contract business which will profit from this land mark right killing, freedom destroying decision.

No farm, no home, and no businesses are safe now. Your home and life savings are now worth what ever some bribed politician is willing to pay you for it. Despite contrary belief, Rome was not conquered from the out side; it rotted from the inside out and collapsed in upon itself in the face of a strong wind. I fear that this is only the beginning for us as the roots of our great nation, the constitution, is systematically killed off by corrupt, politically motivated rulings. It is treason against the people of this nation and those who just assassinated one of our constitutional rights are the same who would judge those charged with it. After all, they are the court, the judges, and ultimately the ones in power for life.

There is of course a hidden silver lining (always is eh).

This ruling won't impact and or mean squat to that large array of the american population that has no clue what it feels like to actually own property.

Every renter, every person not sufficiently well off to actually own a home, won't have ANY reason to even take notice.

I feel sorry for those that find themselves in the lower 10% of the few that can actually own property. But then, their home is likely barely worth fighting for (I have looked at starter homes for the not really all that well to do, and trust me, sometimes it won't be worth fighting for).

If you just bought a brand new shiny home in a brand new sub division, the chances of a developer coming along to flatten the area is rather remote.
So chances are this ruling means nothing to the top half of the homeowners out there (who will be living in those nice shiny new homes).

Thus, this is likely only something for the people that live in the nice, but not really new, reasonable priced, yet likely took some looking to actually find, sort of homes.

Or in other words, probably not a white collar hassle, probably a problem for the upper levels of the blue collar worker crowd.

Mindi thank for the link but I think its a joke and not a real story. But still, it would be sweet justice if something like that did happen.

The developers here in Clark County, WA, are already taking advantage of the ruling. It is sickening to see all the county commissioners and city officials jumping on the band wagon to seize someones home for the betterment of the community. Ya right, They were just bought off and want to keep their bribes coming in. If ever there was a need for a new law I think preserving a persons right to keep their home should be it. However there is virtually no interest in Congress or the Senate to address this issue. Again those who make the laws also are the ones who profit most by them.

I see a developing trend here. Home owners now don’t have a choice when the Gov. decides it needs their land to put up a, let’s say a “playground” with an executive gym for local politicians (that part won’t be publicly known until the “playground” is almost finished). I know it’s only hypothetical, but as we all know that government projects always have some underlying agenda!
That judge in Chicago who's husband and mother were killed (it was uncalled for) by a man whom the judge wouldn't even allow the case to be heard! He was pretty disfigured from the pictures I saw.
United employees now have no pension! While the management’s pension is still intact, What’s up with that? [img]/threads/images/Graemlins/Cold.gif[/img] I see a bad trend starting here where THE PEOPLE are becoming big losers. I will support the hotel project in hopes of sending our politicians a message! I think it’s time that the politicians and corporate leaders start realizing that they are where they are, due to their constituents and their employees and customers. I think it’s sad when you have to write to your representatives when they support a bill that will put some companies customer's money in their pockets. Did they forget “By the People, for the People”!

At least there are a few Senators willing to buck the system and are acting out against this outragous ruling by saying any muncipality, state, or city that tries this will loose its federal funding. Ya right, the only ones that this will ever happend to are the guys going after SENATOR or SC Justices properties.

They are already trying to seize property in the Columbia River Gorge with this ruling backing them up. The want to build a casino and say that the greater good out weighs the environmental impact. No, the greedy bastards stand to make a bajillion dollars in construction costs, taxes, under the table bribes, and tourism. The only good going to come from this is the gold lining in many of the politicans pockets, good for the, bad for us.

Independence Day

Have you ever wondered what happened to the 56 men who
signed the Declaration of Independence?

Five signers were captured by the British as traitors,
and tortured before they died.
Twelve had their homes ransacked and burned. Two
lost their sons serving in the Revolutionary Army;
another had two sons captured.

Nine of the 56 fought and died from wounds or
hardships of the Revolutionary War.
They signed and they pledged their lives, their
fortunes, and their sacred honor.

What kind of men were they?
Twenty-four were lawyers and jurists. Eleven were
merchants, nine were farmers and large plantation
owners; men of means, well educated, but they signed
the Declaration of Independence knowing full well that
the penalty would be death if they were captured.

Carter Braxton of Virginia, a wealthy planter and
trader, saw his ships swept from the seas by the
British Navy. He sold his home and properties to pay
his debts, and died in rags.

Thomas McKeam was so hounded by the British that he
was forced to move his family almost constantly. He
served in the Congress without pay, and his family was
kept in hiding. His possessions were taken from him,
and poverty was his reward.

Vandals or soldiers looted the properties of Dillery,
Hall, Clymer, Walton, Gwinnett, Heyward, Ruttledge,
and Middleton. At the battle of Yorktown, Thomas
Nelson, Jr., noted that the British General Cornwallis
had taken over the Nelson home for his adquarters. He
quietly urged General George Washington to open fire.
The home was destroyed, and Nelson died bankrupt.
Francis Lewis had his home and properties destroyed.
The enemy jailed his wife, and she died within a few
months. John Hart was driven from his wife's bedside
as she was dying. Their 13 children fled for their
lives. His fields and his gristmill were laid to
waste. For more than a year he lived in forests
and caves, returning home to find his wife dead and
his children vanished.

Some of us take these liberties so much for granted,
but we shouldn't. So, take a few minutes while
enjoying your 4th of July holiday and silently thank
these patriots. It's not much to ask for the price
they paid. Remember: freedom is never free! I hope
you will show your support by sending this to as many
people as you can, please. It's time we get the word
out that patriotism is NOT a sin, and the Fourth of
July has more to it than beer, picnics, and baseball
games.

These are people who believed in much more then just themselves. Maybe our current Politicians and Judges should read this and remember what is REALLY important in life!!!
