Why won\'t it fire?
I have an infantry milan unit with 2 ammo left for the milan. Its morale is fine, suppression at 1 and READY. Without moving it for at least 3 turns, has only the option of firing their rifles and grenades, but not the milan.
It sees plenty of enemy units including a few land vehicles, all of which well within range. Still, it says 0 on the bottom of the page and of course if I click to fire nothing happens.
It's from a PBEM game so I guess no point in sending a save game file.
The weapon is not damaged and when I press the spacebar it shows as active. The unit has 2 damage points.
What am I missing?

Re: Why won\'t it fire?
When a unit takes damage, the ROF of the weapons decrease. For things like ATGM's that can mean the max ROF drops to 0. If you like you can think of it this way, the damage the unit has received has also hit the launvher and it is now inoperable...

Re: Why won\'t it fire?
The 2 damage points represents 2 men down. You lack the manpower to operate the Milan.
In a campaign I would withdraw the team when it is at this level of damage. 2 points now vs. 50-100 points if destroyed.

Re: Why won\'t it fire?
That makes sense, though it would be perhaps better to have the weapon disabled.
Anyway, thank you.
Harley, what do you mean withdraw the team? "bail" the crew out?

Re: Why won\'t it fire?
It is very badly damaged, nearly wiped out as a team - but in those circumstances (stationary, suppression at minimum, rounds remaining) it should still get a minimum of 1 shot opportunity.
What nation is it, and what unit slot number is it in mobhack?.
Cheers

Re: Why won\'t it fire?
June 2008, Greece, I am waiting for my next turn to arrive so I can't load to be 100% sure, but it is a milan infantry unit, so my guess is it is unit 211.

Re: Why won\'t it fire?
I just noticed the same problem (or "problem") with another unit, a vehicle-jeeps carrying SS-11. This one has 1 ammo left and 2 damage.
1976, Greece, I think the slot number is 058.
Now, since this is a vehicle, it could be different than with the inf, but I thought I would post it anyway. It could see 2 enemy vehicles (one is now destroyed by an AMX-30) and still not fire at them. In fact at first it would show the number 1 at the bottom of the page where the fire shots appear, but as soon as I pressed T and F, it refused to fire, nothing happened on screen and the number from 1 went to 0.
Oh, I forgot to say that this one is from a single player generated campaign.

Re: Why won\'t it fire?
OK - I'll have a look at this, as the unit should be getting 1 shot opportunity, despite the severe damage.
Cheers

Re: Why won\'t it fire?
It is getting clobbered when it should not be - an integer division rounding error.
Now fixed - 1 shot opportunity will be properly credited.
Cheers
