Default How about a \"MOD REPORT\" thread?

I'm wondering if maybe we should create a thread just for reporting the effects if modifying the text files. I suggest this because I'm trying to do some myself, and am finding it VERY difficult to put together the info from sporadic Posts here and there...

It could be done two ways:

1. All modded results posted to a single long thread.

2. A thread could be created for each text file to keep things organized.

If you all would like I'd be happy to start this.

I could also add links to this info as well...

I for one would be interested in this type of thread. The info I've found scattered throughout the board is very informative and helpful. Consolidating it would be ideal.

Jpinard, it is good to see you active in another board and another game system, have you played any Age of Wonders lately and have you heard anything more definitive about an AOW sequel? The AOW Boards unfortunately have become quite moribund.

Why not a mail group or mail list? eGroups provides free (I think) hosting for mail Groups; there's already one SE4 group there, but you could probably start one specifically for discussing mods for SE4...

E-Groups get annoying, and we'd want this availebl tyo anyone at once to read and peruse. SOmething "here' would be best.

Londo, I'm waiting to update my site until I here something definitive aobut AoW2. Too much work in my site, if there;s not going to be a sequal, and the series dies...
I hope we'll here a little something soon.

I knew I recognised you from somewhere, jpinard! Now I know it's from the AoW Boards over at Valley of Wonders. Nice to see you again.

I REALLY hope that AoW won't die. I am a big fan of it myself, and I remember how much hours I have spent playing that game. Simply addictive as hell, it is MUCH better than any HOMM game (although HOMM is not bad either).
IMO AoW is 'numero uno' game in fantasy strategy game genre and it would be really sad to see a game like that die away.

Daynarr, I agree, I love AOW for many of the same reasons that I love SE IV. You can play massive multi race games and there is a high degree of support both by the developer as well as the playing commuinity. AOW gives each race more of a unique identity but that is due to the fact that you can not design pieces, you are limited to the complement provided by the designer. Both games reward a "combined arms" approach to attack and defend. I honestly don't know how AOW could be significantly improved from a gameplay standpoint. Any expansion may simply increase the number of races, units, spells and updated graphics/sounds. While I would love such a sequel, I hope that it will amount to much more than this. I guess only time will tell. One thing I was wondering about... how well did AOW sell, or for that matter how well has SE IV done so far? Anybody have any actual sales numbers for either product?

I don't know the sales numbers for SEIV but I know it has sold out at least a couple of times and they had to make more so it sold better than anticipated at least.
