Default Scenario 17 Prelude to Catastrophe

This is the scenario notes for #17 a US Assault.

"The Germans have established a bridgehead across the Rhine in the Gambsheim - Herrlisheim area. Your mission is to collapse the German bridgehead and throw them back across the Rhine!"

"You have these forces to accomplish the following missions:"

"66th Armored Infantry Battalion will clear the Steinwald woods."
"17th Armored Infantry and 43rd Tank Battalions will capture Offendorf."*
"56th Armored Infantry and 714th Tank Battalions will capture Herrlisheim from the north."

.......

Game Note: The US has barge carrier units. The barges represent the ability of engineers to improvise foot bridges and crossings for vehicles in a relatively brief span of time. These will be useful if the German players succeeds in destroying any of the bridges with artillery fire.*

I've got my doubts that this is now playable as initially intended. Please let be explain why.

This is about the 56 AIB and the 714 Tk Bn which are to attack Herrlisheim from the north. The Bridge over the Moder is intact but the bridge across the Zorn is destroyed. See map

Seems straight forward using rafts for the infantry and the arriving barge carriers which are due t10. However the infantry have no rafts. This is probably due to it being a US assault and not a river assault.

Now I could send them all south and cross the Zorn at the land bridge but the scenario is not long enough for that and the units will be attacking from the south.

Advice welcome please.
