Fulfilling the promise, building a new map. Small one (for me
) - 100x100 hexes. It covers area you may see here:

It is ca. 18 km inland from one of major border crossings between late Czechoslovakia and late West Germany. Mountaineous terrain with lot of places inaccessible (or hardly so) for vehicles.Utilising the whole height level scale and then some - max. height is 160 (manual input). Height step 20 meters.
Started today, the work is fairly fast - mostly because there are few houses and so on
Here is 1st preview, so far have reached as low as Level 9. The top-left corner is one hill of height 160, in low-right corner there will be another. The terrain slopes down from left (south) to right (north) and total altitude step is from some 850 meters to 480 meters above sea level.
Roughly through the center of the map (top-down) there will be a canyon of a small stream (you can see its outline carved in Level 9 terrain already).

EDIT: as you may see, Level 9 is "bare" as of yet, with only roads placed.
