Re: What strategies do you guys like?
IF I am playing against Rollo or Dogscoff then I like the strategy of the 500 ml bottle of beer...
Get a few wobblie pops in them and then sneak in a shot or two of t-kill-ya...
After that build up the defences for when they attack and wait for the morning after when their groggy and attack then
It can be countered very easily with the strategy of Next round is on EEE

Re: What strategies do you guys like?
I like large/huge galaxies. I'm not into rush games so i always try to build my empire into a turtle shell with only one way 1, outproducing every AI (TDM for the moment). Basically i know that when i start moving my fleets, i'll win because i can outproduce the AI bigtime. So you could say the "real" game starts for me when my production is fully set up and i go to war.
In my current game i'm building some 7 ish sphereworlds at the same time, having completed 1 sphereworld and 8 ringworlds.

Re: What strategies do you guys like?
Against the AI, I first go through a 'colonize like mad' phase, trying to grab up as much territory as possible. When war breaks out, I increase warship production and try to maintain a continuous expansion, one system at a time (this expands to two or three by the time I become a major empire). I always pick the strongest AI empire as my target of choice.

Re: What strategies do you guys like?
I like smaller galaxies. Not to rush per say, but so I can have the challenge of expanding while fighting.
I find large galaxy/build up all the way/then go to war games tedious and unrealistic.

Re: What strategies do you guys like?
I like large games with lots of players (AI or human). I like the interactions that crowds create. Although I don't care too much for Intel, it is an important aspect. I prefer the Political RP Intel. Getting people to second guess their allies does some amazing things
Lately, I've been trying for a much more defensive RP style. Still building up but with much less aggression.
And I ALWAYS stick to my character.

Re: What strategies do you guys like?
I enjoy large quadrants, team battle, with 7 - 9 allies (AI) and 11 - 13 AI opponents. It can get quite interesting with 4 AI empires breathing down your neck! Once (only once) I pit myself against seven AI on hard in team battle .... I lost ... was burried in intelligence attacks.
.... but I digress. Intelligence is a great part of the game (even more so I suspect) when the AI only uses useful attacks.
I tend to pick quadrants with the most variety in their system makeup with a random setup: mid-life or ancient.
My war campaigns tend to be running around from one threat to another, yet my focus is to destoy the most dangerous AI (one with PPBs or Aligence Subverters) or the ones most cut off from their allies (then I can rest from defence in that region).
Lately, I've glassed new enemy colones (>200 pop), captured medium sized colonies (200 - 1000 pop), and used Puppet Political parties to take larger colonies and homeworlds (< 1000 pop. - these tend to have the heaviest AI weapon platform defence).
