The battle reports are generally correct, although units which were not listed as killed can become MIA, presumed dead, if they routed from the battle, but had nowhere to go, so subsequently died. If the battle reports says 3/3 commanders killed, then yes, all of the aforementioned commanders are now dead, regardless of what the replay displays.

Don't worry about it. I'm female and it didn't bother me. I'd've said something if it had. I'm not at all shy about expressing opinions, nor about not being "politically correct", nor about not trying to win a Miss Congeniality contest (as some here would prefer).
Just be yourself. So long as you avoid being deliberately rude and/or insulting you'll be fine. (Oh, and avoid discussing politics or real-world religion, as it tends to inflame those with tender sensibilities.)
