Vikings in space? Now that's an odd idea... I like it. ;-)

Hrmmm, maybe their AI should use boarding parties and troops...

Great Idea, it's an old classic.
The ships look cool and are certainly original.
I look forward to seeing the finished result.

Yeah, I can't wait to start work on the speech files, I intend to draw heavily on the legends and Gods to create mythological metaphors for game events:

"All the things in all the worlds wept for Baldur's death. I suspect you shall not be so well mourned."

...and so on.

I also intend to make frequent and innapropriate use of the ö character=-)

Å, Ä and Ö?

Didn't the Vikings use runes and not the alphabet?

Yep the Vikings used Runes, but the language when translated into latinised script contains many letter variants including the seething th/dh sound.

The tears for Baldur phrase sounds good.

"No man is so generous he will jibe at accepting. A gift in return for a gift,
No man so rich that it really gives him
pain to be repaid."

"Better not to ask than to overpledge
As a gift demands a gift,
Better not to send than to slay too many."
