Re: Deathstalkers PBW game
Well, we seem to have had our first turn processed without a player recently, thought I'd bring up the 24hr time period. Does everyone think this is a good period to wait for turns to get in? Or should it be lengthened? I am pretty reasonable, and I know how the AI can screw up an empire good in a few turns. Response is appreciated, but if no real objections are brought up (or no one responds) the 24 hrs wait will remain. Other than that I hope everyone is having fun, personally I havn't met any human players yet, but the AI's I have met are pretty tough!

Re: Deathstalkers PBW game
It would be nice to get a few turns in day, but understand that someone can have something come up and miss a turn.
I would like to stay with the 24 hour turns.

Re: Deathstalkers PBW game
I also would like to stay with 24 hour. In another game we went to longer periods and I found it hard to stay interested (and remember what was going on). Short attention span I guess.
Exceptions can be made for anticipated problems. In addition to waiting as we did Last week-end, players can get someone else to play their turn. Or if you choose the 'AI do nothing' setting and fill your queues, you can let the AI play one turn without too many dire consequences.

I'm happy with the 24-hour limit; I don't mind taking breaks when real life interferes with someone's game. quote: if you choose the 'AI do nothing' setting and fill your queues, you can let the AI play one turn without too many dire consequences.
If you're referring to the "AI doesn't makes changes in simultaneous games" option, that's known not to be working.

Re: Deathstalkers PBW game
I have used the "AI doesn't make changes in simultaneous games" option in some games and it works very well. If you use it AI doesn't break your treaties or something else stupid. It just gives orders to ships that don't have them and fills empty queues.

IMO, both these things are "making changes"; they're certainly not the same thing as "do nothing".

Well, you're right but it's still pretty useful.
