Good work here, particularly for a first attempt!

I agree with Pepper, this is a tough one. Those were fine gaps you let in the defence line... Plus the force half deployed...
Anyway all wargame players have to be somewhat masochistic

I am more in for big and high-tech battles (although high-tech enough generally turns to a stone-age brawl in a flaming junkyard

), particularly when designing, but this is one good scenario you have here.
