Game questions
The game "Nanotech" appears, at least on the surface, to be similar to the game Chaos Overlord. Is this an accurate statement? I have not downloaded the demo yet, but I thought I might get an answer before I got home tonight!
Also, any similarity between Interstellar Trader and Gazillionaire?
Thanks!

Re: Game questions
You're right on Nanotech; similar, but has more of an emphasis on strategy and planning, rather than the combat element that was focused on more in CO. Nanotech was inspired by several other games, and has unique touches all its own.
You're right on Trader as well, it was partially inspired by Gazillionaire, and the usual space type games, Elite and Privateer, and also "Taipan", a trading game created during the old Apple II days set in China that I loved.

Well, that being the case, I'll try the demo tonight, but it sounds like I'm already sold.
Feel free to keep reinventing the old classics, and if you do it well I will buy them one and all!

Re: Game questions
Thanks!
To clarify: It wasn't my intent actually, to reinvent older games. I sometimes like to extract certain mechanics or elements of a game (or games) I liked in the past, and "rewrap" it with some unique ideas of my own, or take it in a different direction than the original games did.
Nanotech is a good example; it took some ideas from a past game, but eliminated (what I felt) were annoying flaws in the design of the inspiration game (in this case, the unbalanced fighting and weapons in the late game, the "arcadey" nature of the game at times, the tedious micromanagement of the end game) and made it a pure planning/strategy game, and added the laywers, judges, and the other elements to flesh out the detail.
