Will we have PRINTED manual/guides/grimoires ?
Hi,
I'm currently "studying" all the docs coming with Dom (in pdf format ) : there are three 70-some page manuals, plus the unit data files contributed by fans.
What will we have in Dom2 ? Printed manual and pdf grimoire and others, everything on CD, everything printed (it'll be cool) ?
And BTW, will there be some unit data available with the game ? I've read there would be more than 400 NEW units, it'll be a shame to have no doc at all about them...

Are you referring to the XLS files available at Sunraybe's ?
I meant in my post that there is no "official" unit manual AFAIK.

With 1,000 units in DomII it'll take a while and won't help much figuring comparative power/use of the units !
With Dom1 I was lost until I did get the Excel unit database

Re: Will we have PRINTED manual/guides/grimoires ?
Dominions is like a library, full of books. Even if you get somebody to publish a complete unit database, you will have only scratched the surface of his complexity.
Why do I say that? Because of the intricates mechanisms of the game are not revealed precisely (with numbers) by the IW team. You have to test, test and test again if you really want to understand things (or you take the empirical approach to learn by playing, but will see only 5% of what the game engine has in his guts).
For example, I asked myself if etheralness and luck were cumulative, speaking of protecting your troop. I cite this example, but these kind of questions comes by dozens each time I open a turn of dominions. And thats not in the rule either.
So you'd better see dominions has an enormous library, where you can delve to your heart pleasure, picking here and there a book, reading a chapter, then moving to another topic.
oh and the response is yes, it cumulates.

Re: Will we have PRINTED manual/guides/grimoires ?
The manual is still in it's final stages (as far as layout). Once we get closer I'll drop some details here.
