Re: Last of the tuatha problems
Are they using troops and commanders or only commanders? If they are using other troops as well, you could try to corner them and route thier troops so they die retreating into enemy territory.

Hrm.
For Machaka, use Flaming Arrows/Archers. Magma Eruption and Mass Protection on your Hoplites. Try the Flying Dwarf approach to take care of Tuatha/Sidhe Lord mini-combatants, as they can't punch through 30 Prot.

Re: Last of the tuatha problems
We are currently on turn 9 btw so no mass protection, no magma eruption and no flaming arrows (yet) :/

Re: Last of the tuatha problems
I've played lots of games as Machaka...
in the beginning focus on buying the Machaka archers until you can get better archers from the nearby provinces.
also buy the Machaka Hoplites... they are strong and good front military for protecting those archers.
maybe buy a few spider riders... which should sit as hold and attack(placed in the middle)
also buy those sorceresses for 110 gold... they'll do your research and when the time comes for battle...... they turn into spiders when their life is threatened.
more importantly focus on buying those mercenaries for sale.

A few other ideas:
Assasins might work, some cheap magic items might give them the edge.
Cave drakes would be very hard for sihde to harm.
The combustion spell and possibly tangle vines cast by many witch doctors.

Re: Last of the tuatha problems
Machaka can win in many situations with nothing but Black Hunters. What is you Pretender? The viability of Black Hunter Spiders depends on dominion strength, plentiful gold, and bless effects... but if you have plentiful gold and a strong bless, you might want to try building as many Black Hunters as possible.

Re: Last of the tuatha problems
Well Pillin, better luck next time, and don't attack in turn four - you can't be ready to meat my religious mad men at that time, especially not when your men are'nt either religious or well protected
