I'm just looking forward to the orbital battle over Corsucant.

I could probably care less about the finer details.

You know, theres a big area before the movies that are void of books or anything like that. Movie about the origin of the jedi, anyone?

Dude, you're forgetting something. In this one, that whiny little ***** Anakin finally sucks it up and KILLS EVERYONE. That includes all the little kids at the academy. Not only that, but from what I've heard, in the Obi-wan v. Anakin fight, good old Ben does the right and proper Jedi thing. He cuts off Anakin's remaining limbs (he already lost the arm, remember?), then leaves him to die by the side of a river of lava.

In the originals, everyone loved (well, hated...) Vader because he was, to borrow from Sam Jackson AKA Mace Windu, one badass mother****er. He was a great villan, and now we get to see the whiny little kid turn into THAT. Lucas tried to make villans to match Vader in Eps. VI, I, and II (the Emperor, Darth Maul, and Count Dooku). He only really marginally succeeded with Ep II, IMO, and only because it's friggin Christopher Lee, and he can pull of a good villan.

Sure, the effects should be pretty, and I'll probably watch a few times to see those, but what I really want to see is the Dark Side.

I love this movie. I still think #4 is the best of them, but now we know how Anakin becomes Darth Vader. My only gripe comes from Padme dying at the end. How could Leia remember her mother in episode 6 if she died in child birth? The only thing I can think of is that was a force inpsired memory. Other than that, it's a great movie. Definitely worth waiting 28 years for. At least we now know the place where Vader last felt Obi-Wan's presence: Mustafar.

It is said that some children, even more so for those with force powers, can actually feel their mothers love while they are in the womb. This is the basis for that mothering instict. It is a paradox that I am sure Lucas did not consider.

I saw the movie for the second time today. It's a wonderful movie, I'm sure I'll go see it even more times while it's still in the theaters. This time there was no lineup at all to get in, but the pLace was still full.

I want to be a Jedi!

My personal SW series ratings, on a scale from 1 to 10:

Ep 1: 3
Ep 2: 6
Ep 3: 8
Ep 4: 10
Ep 5: 8
Ep 6: 8

Order of favoritism: 4, 6, 3, 5, 2, 1.

Ep 3 has some of the best visual effects in the series, though many of them are (as in Eps 1 and 2) too hyper-active and cluttered. Plenty of action. I greatly appreciated the lack of any Gungans (I didn't see any Jar Jar) and painfully cutsie crap. There were places where the script was pitiful, and though it didn't utterly suck, I think the Anakin's transition to Vader was done very weakly.

The whole Padme/Anakin story was much weaker than I expected. I thought there was an obvious opportunity to handle that in a much more dramatic, interesting, and rational way, but oh well. At least it was short enough, since the chance of Lucas, Christensen and what's'er-name pulling a better story off well seems minimal.

Good point about Padme's death seeming to contradict Leia's statement in Ep 6 - guess Leia was wrong (more likely, Lucas just being inconsistent for no good reason).

He was just feeling jealous of Star Trek.
