Strike To Mogadishu Beta 2.0
I have been working on this map for sometime and here it is.
And to people that dont know the history of that scenario, ill make it short.
1: Capture the target building and its surroundings.
2: Go to the Black Hawks drop zones and defend them.
3: Wait for convoy to arrive and evac all the people from the city by loading them into the humwees and trucks and moving them to the edge of the map.

1) B6 has 3x the same weapons sound - and the wrong one, AFAIK.
2) Way to much aerial firepower:
- you confused the MH-6 (carrying Deltas) with the AH-6, carrying weapons. As both are carried outside, you can't have both. Actually used where 2 rocket-armed AH-6 and 4 unarmed MH-6 (afaik).
- you used the MH-60 Blackhawk with advanced targeting equipment. I'm not shure, I think there were UH-60 used, which in the standard OOB don't have that great targeting equipment. Sadly, they don't have miniguns either, so either the OOB is plain wrong or the model in questions is missing.
But I'm no expert on US units in '93 .. my whole knowledge derives from http://inquirer.philly.com/packages/.../default16.asp
According to this sorce, 75 rangers where roped in, in 4 chalks, what makes it 18,75 men in a chalk .. way to much, and the text speaks about "round a dozend men", ranger squads have 10 men in the OOB. Those MH-60 can carry only 8 men, while the UH-60 is listed with 14 ...

As for AI the most effective work around to this problem so far is to simply use an American instead, they tend to put up a bit more of a fight than your average Artificial Idiot.

ok, thanks for the info.
I couldn't find some of the units you are talking about so I had to improvise some of them. Like the Deltas in that map are scouts, but I had changed the morale, experience and weapons etc.
From the buying screen I could only find one or two types of littlebirds, both of them assault types so I had to change the carry capacity. Atleast I haven't found the littlebird that has the outside seats, but I will change them so 2 have rockets and 4 unarmed.
For the blackhawks I just chose the asssault type, because they had minuguns and then I changed carry capacity so rangers would fit.
I will try to make the unit amount more precise.

I would say, the miniguns simply replaced the manually aimed door/crew guns (M60?) on the UH-60, so there would be little in terms of range finder, stabilizer and fire control...
Sadly, this does not fit the OOB at all.
I'm not sure as well, if the 2 AH-6 did not carry rockets AND miniguns - or even miniguns only. There's plenty of eye whitness of them firing guns in the article mentioned above, but no mentioning of rockets.
Ranger chalks seemingly have been 8-13 men.
Btw, don't you think settings heli crews to exp/mor 255 isn't a little bit overdone?
Even the beefed-up deltas with 'skills' of 100-120 are a little bit much, IMHO.
But, forgot to say, all in all a great peace of work!

Yeah, gotta admit that the heli's experience and morale is way too high, but deltas are fine. I made the deltas that way, so they are harder to get killed and I seem to get the realistic amount of casualties when I play the map which is more or less than 18.
I have made some changes to the map already. I changed blackhawks from assault type to the transport and changed m60 to miniguns with 20 HE ammo.
2 littlebirds now have 5 rockets and the default minigun while the other 4 are unarmed and I've lowered the morale and experience from all helis.
Im still thinking how much rangers I put into one squad.

1. Buy a removable formation of anything.
2. Assign the deletable squad to that formation.
3. Delete the formation bought in step 1.

I've made some changes and this shall be the final version
It's not very dramatic changes, just some little balancing here and there.
-HQ is now in a JOC blackhawk
-All ranger squad now have 10 men and I have named the squad leaders right.
-Added M203 GL to rangers.
-4 littlebirds doesn't have weapons, while other two have miniguns(20 ammo) and 10 ffar rockets.
-Blackhawks have miniguns with 50 ammo
-Decreased morale and experience for blackhawks and littlebirds.
When I tested this, I got something over 30 casualties and one hmmwv and one truck was destroyed. Somali's got near 600 casualties. So far as I am conserned, I think this map is now good and if there is something you want to be changed... change them by yourself
