Q. about protective dome spells
I took over a province with a castle. Every few turns I get attacked by huge armies.
Before trying to break siege I send several "Fire from Afar" at the sieging forces.
Last turn I cast "Horde from Hell" at a sieging army and I get a message that the spell was destroyed by a dome protecting the province.
But it is my province!?!
I certainly did not cast any dome spell. How would I check if one is active.
Is this a bug??

Re: Q. about protective dome spells
scying on the province might say if a dome is active, im not sure (however some are destroyed after use). If the enemy controlled the province before you and had a lab in it then they may have cast the dome.

More likely its a bug with casting spells at sieging armies.

Re: Q. about protective dome spells
Are you sure there wasn't a dome spell around when you first captured the province?

Re: Q. about protective dome spells
Another thing to note is that Dome spells defend against ALL spells, not just enemy. So, for example, if you Domed one of your own provinces, you might then be unable to teleport into it.

Re: Q. about protective dome spells
Yep - slightly stupid thing about the dome spells. You'd think that at least _some_ of them would differentiate between your magic and others, or that the casting mage would be able to bypass his own dome, etc.

Re: Q. about protective dome spells
I believe there's also a bug in the game where several domes of the same type can be stacked.

Re: Q. about protective dome spells
When I invade a territory is there a way of knowing if there is a dome?
Or is it supposedly destroyed when territory is taken over?

Re: Q. about protective dome spells
I'm guessing the dome is still there if the original caster is still alive. But because the dome "belongs" to the other player, you probably don't see the dome symbol even though you own the province.
