Default Custom unit icon buggering up

Howdy! With the release of the newest patch I figured I'd try my hand at creating my own custom units for my fictional nation. Using Windows paint I created a relatively simple tank, saved as a 24 bit BMP file, uploaded it to SHPedit, aaannndd...Click image for larger version

So, two questions here. First off, how do I get the turret to align with the ring? Secondly, What are those little white 'flecks' about? Any way to fix this? The Icon is 18002, 18003 7549

You need to use the "SP fix" button in SHPEDit to tell the SHP code where on the hull you want the turret to be and where on the turret the pivot point is.

The white bits are usually a light grey that is almost the same brightness as the normal pink transparent and with practice, you get to recognize them but windows paint is a painfully basic editor for building Icons and if you are serious about building some you need to use something better.

Thanks for the help man! I tried using Paint.net but since it was 1AM and I was tired I didn't notice that there was a option to choose 24bit BMP files. Thanks again for the help!

There are lots of graphics programs available but every Icon I have made for this game has been with Paint Shop Pro V7.01

I cannot vouch for this website but it claims its available
