I am thinking of modifying the Solar Collector Facility. I know someone mentioned this before in the suggestions list. Right now level III produces 300 of each resource for each star which is just too weak compared to the monolith facility.
Tell me what you think of this:
Level I produces 300 per star
Level II produces 500 per star
Level III produces 700 per star
This way they are more effective than monolith facilities in trinary and binary systems, which seems balanced to me.
Also has anyone used stellar manipulations to create more than three stars in a system?
However a normal monolith costs 5000 more minerals than a solar collector and you give a big advantage to the crystal player in the finite resource game. Also the monilth gets the postive or negative bonus from the planet. The collector is like always on a triple 100% non modifiable base.
You can not create a star if a star exist in the system. Also you cannot create a star in a system with a created planet (even though the star is gone for most other purposes. I am not sure about if it is for solar collectors.
Production bonuses do apply to solar collectors, both race and population
Also out of curiousity I tested collectors. A solar collector place outside or on a constructed world loses access to the star.
