I guess that he had a lot more mineral plannets on his side than I did, the better mineral extraction his race has probibly helped to...
Having 23 colonies of mineral value 100% or greater helps. Especially when 6 of those are breathable..

EDIT: not to mention running my mineral storage to the bone at times.

Oh, and you almost cut me off but not completely..one more system to the north, and I probably would have had a hard time of it.

I've had a few that played out to completion over a weekend, (and not always with me the victor) but I don't think I've ever had one finish in a day either.

Well done Primitive and thank you for your sportsmanship.

I only got Chem from the ruins, did you get anything good?
I would be gratefull for any hints/tips/comments you had on the game.

Cheers again.
Well, Thank you for your sportmanssip allowing the second restart

Only got Research 2 of usefull stuff fom the first batch of colonies, but as soon as I developed Ice the techs started flowing in. Didn't have the time to get much use out of them though.

As your little sypship must have told you, my starting position was quite a bit better than yours so I had the advantage from the start. I would have had to screw up to loose this game.

I'll send you an e-mail with some additional reflections.

K.O.T.H. Kazarp vs Gecko
Default KOTH + No Intelligence Projects
Tesco Map

Date: 2405.0
The Dundas Rednecks Clan empire has been completely destroyed. They are no more, sire.

Thanks for a good game, Kazarp. And, yes in fact, lots of people have told me:
“…that you can't win with… that bizarre race setup!?” I am a contrary Gecko. I think you were countering nicely up the point I rolled over your warp point defense in Atull with ~50 ships. If I had waited one more turn to launch the attack, you would have had another 10 light cruisers defending – which might have wrecked my offensive. Wave Two only had 16 ships, many of them support ships.

I ascend the Hill again, condemning the Dundas Rednecks Clan to remain in the KOTH recycler. Grrr… Primitive moved up before I could get to Grandpakim.

Gulp! Am I the new "victim-of-choice"?

Don't worry too much Geckomlis. I think at this rate you'll have an opponent shortly. Or not, because if I can't demolish se5a fairly quickly, this is going to get real messy (his research greatly outpaces mine, except he went for drones and troops)

Comments like that will belong in the How old are you? thread. I never target any demographic! Actually, I was just looking forward to playing against someone new. That is the best way to learn. You know: travel the quadrant, meet new and strange races, and then conquer them.

Hell, even I have given up on drones.

I must admit he surprised the heck out of me. Almost made me call off my attack until I remembered that mines stop drones. If they didn't things would have gotten very unpleasant.
