Re: OT: So I got a new HD.....
Why are you trying to get win95 running on a new computer? Both winXP and Linux/Wine can emulate win95 just fine. I second what aiken said about buying a Linux CD.

There are a lot of old DOS games that work very poorly or not at all under XP or Linux with Wine (much more so with XP).

Don't get an upgrade. Find a full copy. It is not really a good idea to do upgrades like that... A full copy of 98 SE will be dirt cheap anyways.

Have any of you heard of an emulator called DOSBox? here's the link.. DOSBox Homepage
It works really well and is FREE. AND no need to special format your HD to have multiple boot OS's.
Cheers!

Yes, but you have to have a really good PC to use an emulator very well... Emulators take up a huge amount of memory and CPU power.

*raises topic to the front page with new title*
The lowest that I can find on ebay is around 30-39.99(some are listed cheaper but they all get 'bid up' during the Last days). Anyone know a cheaper deal?

No, not really. Dos games need only very small amouts of memory and CPU power even with a emulator. DosBox is a very good program for it and it even has a nice option to improve the graphics so they don't look to bad on your big screen with high resolutions.
