Re: Help needed for challenge game
Tien Chi PD has Glaives. They can kill non-ethereal Wyrm unless they rout.
You can have any Acid spell, so (some of) your spells are unresistable. Masters of the Way are inexpensive, have Water, and Holy magic. Good researchers that double as THE anti-Ermor unit.
Evocations are good. Celestial Master can access the Acid spells, Magma spells, Water spells, Astral spells, Astral Fires, etc. There's lots of goodies in there. As mentioned earlier, you don't have to worry about Magic Duel that much.
You can recruit various kinds of archers, infantry, cavalry as Tien Chi. The light cavalry might not be that useful, but other than that they have anything you could want.
I haven't really considered this for long, but I'd go for Evocation to boost your magic, and Air-based pretender to give you something your enemies will have harder time countering. E.g. Air6F4 Phoenix could get you nice Air Evocations, and might give you an Air Queen or two. You might want to have Titan and leave Fire out, as Fire Darts isn't very feasible before higher levels in Fire.
Earth could also work. Reinvigoration for your mages, slap in some Fire for heavy-damage Magma spells, some Air for Mirror Image/Mistform if you're doing a combatant, and that combination would also let you summon Celestial Warriors (IIRC).

There is a catch to this. When Abyssia player sees enemy astral pretender then he can alchemize his fire gems and get a healthy number of magic duelers against him.

Whoa! That'd be some serious investment! I'd think that Tien Chi would have easier access to Astral and more Astral mages than Abysia, and that there'd be better uses for Fire gems than to recruit Warlocks... But I have no experience in competitive multiplayer. That's like another game.

Re: Help needed for challenge game
I've fought a couple low-med Astral TC Pretenders, and its not easy to MD them. You'll probably always have more astral mages on the field then the opponents you listed, so even if they bring along multiple shammns, they have to go through your CM's to get to your pretender. It can happen, but its not easy if you plan accordingly.
Unless that is someone makes a big boo boo. My 2 cents.
Oh and just for a idea of what a wyrm can do. I was fighting TC's main army as Van. He had all the normal Stuff TC normally fields and his S3 Wyrm. I had 20 or so of each of my blessed troops...Vans and Valks along with all the normal infantry van can field. I decimated him rather quickly..all his troops and that made the big wyrm route. As he routed, he ate about 25 Vans and Valks, and 2 of my Vanjarls. I hardly scratched him. The only way I beat him, was to trap him and out preach him.
