Re: SFTC PBW Game
Yes to the engines and speed. The X-Ray was working but I broke it again. It will be working in the next patch; again! (Shame on me!). I am not seeing them run from each other in combat. If you have a missile boat design check that you put at least one magazine on it. If that isn't working can you attach the save game here so I can look at it? Thanks!

Re: SFTC PBW Game
They use cannons. If I start them next to each other they blast away, but otherwise they start retreating. I'll try to figure out a savegame.

Re: SFTC PBW Game
your "retro construction" is confusing, when you say "retro construction I thought "building up ships quickly using retroseries design and retrofiting"

Re: SFTC PBW Game
Ok...
1. Kana
2. PES
3. Hippocrates
4. RandallW
5. se5a ?
6. ???
At best it would be nice if we could get people who actually have a passing knowledge of the boardgame Starfire. Yet I dont think that is neccasary a deal breaker. Also I guess we can wait till the next patch from Aaron, and the follow up patch from PES.
I hope your keeping good notes of your changes PES...
Basically what he means by retro construction, is just the ability to add older components to a ship hull after you have developed new and better components. This is for the purpose of espionage, trade, goodwill, deception, etc...

Re: SFTC PBW Game
Actually I am keeping very detailed notes. In fact if you read the FAQ in the SFTC download thread or the ReadMe.txt in the download itself it provides a very clear description that Retro-Construction is taking any hull you have developed and adding outdated components to it. But if your like me you don't read crap, just play and figure as you go. As for construction rates I strongly suggest you take good care of your ships and try not to get them killed. Money to build ships won't be your problem (this is in the FAQ too) it is the build time that will get your empire squashed. You must build up and build often. Mothballing is a well known and very heavily used tactic in the SF board game.

There aren't any cannons except the Energy Pulse Cannon? Do you mean Guns? They need ammo, look at the component description and ordinance usage. Dumb question but are you sure you downloaded the right mod?

Re: SFTC PBW Game
yeah sorry, guns. I made a test game. With frigates they will fight, but with the monitors I originally started with they just turn and retreat.
