Kellogg Creek Software had a game called SpiritWars, and won a trademark lawsuit against Hasbro/WotC's use of "The Spirit Wars". (Scroll down to the entry "Software Trademarks" on the second link. I can't find a better link ATM.) "Nation States" would be closer to infringing than Aaron's current "World Supremacy" is to the old boardgame Supremacy.
