Wow... I always thought Smasher worked on inanimate beings. Could it be made moddable? I guess it won't be used much, if ever, but just having the command in there can give ideas. For one, it's once again made me want to do a Gargoyle nation based on the Disney's cartoon. Gargoyles with #stonebeing but not #inanimate; strong, slow-moving (mapmove 2 at most) fliers with good natural protection and rejuvenation, average magic resistance, good morale, etc. The problem is that I've got too many ideas, too little time and so few hero slots. Two unique immortals (perhaps one a hero and the other a blood summon), perhaps a Tuatha/Eriu -themed hero or two, an Archmagus hero, Timedancer, perhaps Captain of the Gargoyles as a stealthy assassin human OR as a benevolent non-mage ghost, a multihero Hunter with magic-slaying arbalest...

Re: Stone Sword
I like the idea of petrified, non-stone inanimate units gaining a protection bonus, instead of being killed. It's a good balance against gorgons, the aegis, stone sword, etc.

Re: Stone Sword
So stone boots and stone sword are a good combination then?

Except that giving Stone Sword into a non-stone inanimate commander, like a Golem (clay, not stone) would HELP the Stone Sword's wielder.

I think it does. Skeletons are brittle after all. Can't remember what stonebeing does, apart from the possible petrification res. Might affect their lifespan. Higher maxage with higher earth magic or something similar.

Re: Stone Sword
Inanimate makes lifespan dependent on Earth. Could the stonebeing flag just be called #inanimate in modding?

Re: Stone Sword
Yes, as it should be. If the animating spirit can be assumed to be similar-and I don't know why animating clay would be any different than animating stone, they're basically the same substance-then changing clay to stone shouldn't destroy the unit, only make it tougher.

Re: Stone Sword
Stonebeings are immune to the spell petrification. The stone sword only deals death with a MR roll. We'll have to fix that in a patch so they have the same stone resistance.

Re: Stone Sword
I sense the Stone Sword is about to break out of its niche role...
GoR'd Gargoyles, anyone?

Re: Stone Sword
Shhh. I do not want my foes to know about my gor gargolyes!
Though until the patch they do not work as intended.
Must finish the Alpaca game before the patch! Must Must.
I hereby give my notice in alpaca that all naps are terminated! (after the countdowns of course).
