Don't you think if there was a "screen scrolling problem" it would have been fixed by now given it's the only way I play ??

See Andys answer above. The only "problem" is you need to correctly set up the scrolling based on your PC

Oh yeah, forgot that point... Never stumbled so far upon the so called pre-game-launch-setup things. For now full screen is still a preferred method though. But, can you tell me what is beyond that Windowed mode thing that makes you tend to use it more over the full-screen mode? Developer preference?

Playing in a window lets you keep track of things without ALT tabing, quick flick to see how that programs running in the background plus without switching you can select tracks on your MP3 player see your email notifications & the clock so your better half does not lynch you.

Just a thought as its a pallette problem both XP & Vista have a thing to set properties for a specific program, right click the icon & select properties I think then whatever its called diffrent name on each system typical Micr.... Lets you turn some things off & run in a 256 colour pallette which I woulld think is whats used anyway.

98% of the time I'm in the game it's for development and I need access to other programs that are running and at any one time that could mean the game, paint Shop Pro, a text editor, outlook express, internet explorer , windows explorer and sometimes Borland C++ builder. I have, on occasion, had all that AND both winSPWW2 and winSPMBT running but that is rare and never for long.

That's with a 7 year old computer running XP

The game generally works better in windowed mode in 99% of the cases where full screen is an issue . The only issue I have with full screen is the palette is slightly off with all colours shifted a bit to red and magenta so not only does full screen not allow me easy access to these other programs while I play or test it doesn't give me optimal colour either. Andy doesn't have the palette issue on his machine but he's using a different graphics card.

In windows mode, I have had the problem of moving the cursur to the left and it scrolling to the right. It happens randomly (as far as I can see). Has anybody else had this problem? Is there a fix in place? If not, don't stay up trying to find one.

You are the first to ever mention such a thing.

If it were common, then folks would have been complaining out the wazoo about it, methinks.

So - I suspect your PC's setup.

Just to add my $0.02c worth:- Multi-tasking is where Linux has a real advantage over windows, you can have up to 16 desktops each costing about 1 meg of RAM to run and switch between them with a mouse click.

Warwick
