Re: Helicopter mounted Stingers
I generally play very small scenarios, company or below, so I wanted to see how much could be squeezed into 12 units or less. I've been surprised at how effective these units are. Cost is high, though.

For my money a detachment of ATK Helicopters provides the security support and AT capability for company sized scenarios. MANPADs will typically provide AA capability.
Are you talking about units or formations?

Re: Helicopter mounted Stingers
Generally units. 1 infantry platoon with 1 tank and/or 1 helicopter in support. Snipers and patrols get added in during longer campaigns, rarely does it get much bigger.

Re: Helicopter mounted Stingers
I do a lot of 30H by 60W, up to 60H by 90W. Block a main road, hold a key village or terrain feature. Most of my playing while I'm over here is on a Microsoft Surface, 12" screen, less scrolling around with a small map.

Re: Helicopter mounted Stingers
I was just curious. When I want a company size action I tend to 30x30 with an autogenerated map with urbanisation set to 4..it gives a nice amount of houses and roads for a reinforced company and cerainly 20x60 fits in nicely too
