Re: The City of the Damned
I had one of the unique tomes pop out once, and one turn with 2000+ gold. Most successes provided only a few dozen gold. But I had horror attacks instead of undead attacks, which was rough,
I suspect it was a different "hunt for treasure" site, not the "city of the damned" per se. This was in a SP game long since completed and deleted, so I can't go check.

Re: The City of the Damned
I think City of the Lost is the other one where you can do "adventures" for random stuff.

Re: The City of the Damned
Never seen these and they sound like fun, what kind of magic search finds them?

Re: The City of the Damned
Death for The City of the Damned. I used Dark Knowledge so I'm not sure about level.

Re: The City of the Damned
Must be ultra rare, I have never seen them before and I always search for death. Unless I have overlooked them of course, always a possibility in the late game.
What magic search finds City of the Lost?

Re: The City of the Damned
I've seen it all of twice, and only once in my game.
It's wicked fun. I wish it was more common.

Re: The City of the Damned
Thanks RamsHead.
Looks like I'm gonna be happy I found the City of the Damned!
I tried out the Forgotten City and in a single turn my guy was:
- Attacked by a Lesser Horror
- Entered the Forgotten City, got shot and killed by a huge ballista bolt, then:
- Got attacked by the Abomination of Desolation. Leave me alone, doom horror! I'm already dead! (I think he may actually have survived the bolt, but it looks funny like he was killed twice.)
The City of the Damned is a walk in the park in comparison.
Among the many wonderful items you can find in the City of the Damned, you can find the mysterious and powerful ... Slave Collar. Nooooo .... don't wear it!!! Bah.
Immortals do return from being killed in the City. And Disintegrate works pretty well on the Maker of Ruins .

Re: The City of the Damned
Behold, peons... the power of hex diving!
The Forgotten City and the City of the Damned are both rare and unique, their bitmask indicates they cannot be found underwater.
The Forgotten City is a level 3 astral site. The City of the Damned is a level 2 death site.
They both have power 192 - enter for adventure! The argument for this power (same place in the file that the # of gems goes for gem income) is 10 for the Forgotten City and 7 for the City of the Damned. Maybe other values would enable other adventures? Who knows?
No other sites have this power.
In addition, the City of the Damned has a 2% chance of horror marking you each turn you stay in the province, and the Forgotten City has a 1% chance of cursing you each turn you stay in the province.
DOOM!
