Re: SEV Betatest...
Looks like both larger system and larger tactical maps.

Re: SEV Betatest...
Very much larger system maps. I counted a radius of 12-14 on that hex grid (12 if you go in exactly a straight path out, only possible in 6 directions, 14 for the farthest edge that requires a little zig-zagging to get there from the center), compared to just 6 for SEIV.

Should be able to.

1680 wide? omg, downsize man, I only tested it to 1600x1200.
lol, and now you know the downside of 'bleeding edge'
Cheers!

It's a widescreen display (16x9, not 4x3). Its getting fairly common on laptops, at least the one I got. It's actually really sweet, because movies look good on it, and you can just plain see more... thing is some video games have less than optimal support for it.

...and I wonder if a top-down view will be available.

Re: SEV Betatest...
Looking at the pics on the site and a couple of notes:
1.) Maintenance on facilities
http://www.malfador.com/SE5scr004.htm
There aren't any currently, are there? Would make a resource limited game quite interesting.
2.) Asteroids - Occlusion
http://www.malfador.com/SE5scr006.htm
I guess that will replace "condition" allowing only certain size ships to pass through the sector? (Can you hide a fleet of smaller ships inside?)
