Maybe we could get Joachim (or Geo) to rerun the turn offline and try to figure out whats going on.

While I'm happy to try, I suggest getting someone who knows what they're doing - ie not me!
Can you trade Primitive?

Do you accept the trade as the very Last thing in your turn (a few seconds before ending your turn), or do something else after that? It is the only known explanation for the trade bug, and that part of your message worries me a bit. And what about Mark?
I am not sure if the trade bug strike when you accept the trade, when you propose it, or both. I have a hunch it happens at both times; the actual message may be sent fine, but the contents of the trade are lost in the process. At least, that is a theory based on no ground whatsoever, but...
If not, I don't have the slightest clue about what isn't working for you. The closest to hit was what happened in the NGC games, where one player couldn't accept any trade. I am not too sure if this problem had been solved or not; perhaps Ruatha has a better answer about this. But the NGC games are much bigger than our 2vs2 game, and sheer size may be a factor triggering the trade bug.

Joachim.
Well, it needs to be someone who knows the master password
Its really nothing to it. We send you our Last turnfiles (and our passwords) and you run the turn on your computer. If the trade still don’t come through, Slynky can try to redo the turn until it works.
And if we can’t get it to work at all, maybe its better to just nullify the game.
Edit: Forgot; Me and the snickering one trades fine

Re: The Grudge-Match of Doom - (trashtalk/game progress)
Incidentally, would it be allowed to edit the game file in order to add, for example, Battle Cruisers to either Slynky or Mark? It would require some time to pinpoint the exact location of this value, but it *should* be possible.
However, I don't know if tweaking savegames is allowed and fine for MM (or even laws for this matter), so I am not too sure if such a solution can be considered. And all players would have to agree, obviously. But it *might* be a solution, if all else fails.
Otherwise, removing this game from the rated list will probably be the best indeed (as long as we still go on with playing).

Happy to try - but no promises! It's really easy. You load all the plr files and the gam file in your savegame folder. Crank up the program and load the gam file. Then log in as the master and run the turn. At this point, you can have my password to see if the trade came through or just load the resulting gam file back on PBW as a replacement file.

Re: The Grudge-Match of Doom - (trashtalk/game progress)
As to remarks about canceling the rating (or nullifying the game completely), I think we wouldn't consider that. Who knows what might have been different but the probable outcome with the Talisman in hand makes it easier to predict. Yes, it took 2 turns (also) for LC to come to me (and it held me up 2 turns making sweepers and bigger ships) for one example. Organic Armor III didn't go to Mark on another ocassion...resulting in ships being built with Org armor II for another turn. A combat component II failed to transfer once. I hesitate to mention the others (besides BC) since the items in question need to stay a secret.
But, I don't think anyone is considering nullifying the game...perhaps saying that defeat will look worse than it should have due to trading glitches.

Re: The Grudge-Match of Doom - (trashtalk/game progress)
Dear Aunt PBW,
When playing alongside an ally, it can be quite distressing to find that he's almost conceding defeat when the war has hardly started. What does one do in such a situation?
Signed,
Anxious.
-------------------------------------------------
Dear Anxious,
Clearly your so-called ally is not worthy of your talents. I suggest that you mock him mercilessly until he sees reason. If this doesn't work, your only recourse is to change sides and join your enemies in pounding him into dust. Either way, you must on no account allow him to leave the game until his Last planet has been nuked into a small ball of radioative glass.
Yours,
Aunt PBW.
