The two will hover, spinning inches above the ground. With a giant buttered cat array, a high-speed monorail could easily link New York with Chicago.

A 'chronon' is a very small unit of time. I have no idea how you might do this, but something evocative of the space-time continuum would be very cool. Alternatively, I was thinking of one of those suns with the face in it from the Renaissance period, or something else reminiscent of the history of science (the one I'm using now is a stock avatar of Descartes). Thanks!

Maybe a clock will do.

That would be cool, and/or you could place them in a separate batch so that the masses will know which ones are 'reserved' and which are available for 'adoption'
Cheers!

Ok, let's see if I can spell this out for you, follow these steps..
1)Find the link to the avatar pic you want. (It should be somewhere in this thread and look like 1040043110.gif and be above a set of pics.) Note the pics are always in the same order as the links!
2)Click on the link. (It should open up a new window with just the pic in the upper left.)
3)Click in the 'Address' window at the top of page. (The address htpp... should now be highlighted in blue.)
4)Press Ctrl-c to copy the address to memory.
5)Close the window.
6)In the Intel Forums window, there is a link to "My Profile" in the top right beside the Intel Forums Bullet pic.. Click on 'My Profile' to go to the profile page.
7)On the 'Profile' page at the top is a bold text link called View/Update Profile Click on it.
8)A new window will open and at the bottom right is another link (beside your current avatar pic) called 'Select a different Avatar Image'. Click on this link.
9)Another window will open and at the bottom is white text box called 'Use Custom URL' Click your mouse in the white area and (if there is a url there delete it!) Press Ctrl-v to paste your 'custom' url (Captured in step 4)
10) Click on the 'Set URL' button beside the little white window.
11) Click on the "Select this Avatar" button in the top left of the window.
12) Close this window.
13) you should be back in your 'Profile' window. Now scroll to the bottom and click on 'Update Profile"
14)That's it, you should now have a new Avatar pic in place.
If after following these instructions you still are unable to 'set' the new Avatar pic, then I'm at a loss.
I really hope this helps, Cheers!
