Re: Bump in Appreciation of Gandalf Parker
This whole forum is populated by awesome people. I haven't seen a thread like this before, anywhere.
I have tried most things you can do with dominions. I can really appreciate the dedication of those people patient enough to mod, to draw sprites, to gather data, to organize data they or others collected, to tweak balance, to throw around ideas, to always be optimistic about the perfection achievable by the very next patch, to be able to complete MP games, to HOST those games, to complete SP games with huge maps... I'm proud to be part of this community.

Meh, you guys are all just enablers of my Dominions addiction.
However, as gaming addictions go, Dominions is a lot better than say World of Warcraft, so I guess on the whole it's a good thing.

Re: Bump in Appreciation of Gandalf Parker
Considering how much this game makes ones brain works. I would consider it a very good addiction, its like Coffee!
And yes Thank you Gandalf very much, your servers more than a year ago were my very first MP blitz and is what got me hooked on playing MP. You are also very helpful on these boards in general!
Like the other posters, all of the veterans, modders, hosts, and everyone else who makes these the best boards that I have ever had the chance to read: Thank you! It is very hard to find a mature group online (no matter what everyones age is.) And honestly Im probably one of the younger memebers...

Wow. Just, wow. I laughed, and I want this for a t-shirt. I want a flag with this thing. Can I get a special first page for my manual with this?

Ask and you shall receive..

You forget one of the things I do all day (or should do more of). I pitch "Anyone can" ideas on the net. Such as, anyone can open a free shop with a paint program. I would have had it up about 2 minutes after you said it but I decided I should ask Illwinter first. Then I whipped one off.
Remember me pushing for slogan contest and Shrapnel putting the winning shirt online for us?

I'm wearing the Illwinter classic thong right now! Sadly, my wife has opted for the Space Empires 5 mumu.

Re: Bump in Appreciation of Gandalf Parker
Sorry that I have been 'away' for a bit, but I must also credit Gandalf Parker for getting me into and fostering my love of Dominions.
Nice merchandise, on the whole. I think my own favorite saying would be
'You think you are wise, Mithrandir, but for all your subtlety you lack wisdom.'
'Maybe, but guess who's about to eat 50 raiding Satyr armies!'
(The joke's a bit dated, but I hope most people catch it.)
As far as names go, I named my son after a very similar character to Olorin (as my personal favorite name for him). In fact, if you read Socrates Meets Jesus by Peter Kreeft, the identification is explicit at the end.
