Re: Midgard
Months, maybe, but not years. This game has the same hosting period like other games, and sooner or later one of the game-ending globals will decide who gets out on top.
About the mod-nations-game, I was thinking about hosting something like that, but then had doubts that the mod nations would be balanced. I'd like a mod nations only game, if you can get together a couple of mod nations that are balanced for playing against each other.

Anyone here ever play Empires in Arms? It's a strategic-level Napoleonic game that me and my wargaming buddies back in Michigan used to play. We took longer on the political phase than the entire rest of the turn combined! It was a great game, but a few tempers flaring between people got rather ugly unfortunately.
Some of us moved on to World in Flames (WW2 game) which is less political as the sides are normally all drawn up already. We never did get the Days of Decision political game setup with it to make it more dynamic before I had to move.

Heh, my two favorite chit and map games! Haven't played EiA in many years becasue it's too hard to get enough adults together on regular basis, and i recently retired from WiFF because i found a better strategic game. Some crapweasel game company got ahold of the computer game rights to EiA and vaporwared it unfortunatly. Too bad, if it were translated right it would be an excellent computer game.

Re: Midgard
I'm hoping that this game will either get set aside so that a new version can be made, or that it will spawn more games from it.
Partially for personal reasons, I readily admit, because I'm not doing well and everyone hates me
(I wouldn't mind if everyone hated me, if I were doing better, mind you)
But also because I think that the whole concept has a ton of possibilities and potential for fun, and it would be a shame if it only came around once a year or something, and was only good for a few people for the last several months.

Re: Midgard
I don't see why there isn't any reason we can't have multiples of these. We just need a thread for each.

Re: Midgard
Multiples would be great. Maybe different player modded maps for each? It's a great opportunity to use some of Gandalf and Edi's huge maps, as well as Twan's opus.
There's a lot of opportunity for various types of team-play too, if we continue to use the Megamod.

Re: Midgard
I was surprised at how fast this game filled up.
