No Music
I know folks were having this problem before. I just got the game and the latest patch and I dont have any music. I can play the music from Windows Media player and I have CD music enabled in the options. I have Win ME and a SBlive!
I dont really need the music and love the game but just wanted to let the powers that be know about it.
Thanks

Re: No Music
If you haven't already done so, do a search on this forum. It goes back months so I believe your problem will be answered there.
If not, sorry I couldn't help more.

Re: No Music
I had issues simialr and it was as simple as going into Control Panel in Win98 and setting the MIDI settings in Multimedia. It was set to an incorrect device. Hope this helps.

Re: No Music
It could be also that you cd/dvd player isn't connected to your sound card. Check that the midi cable is connected. This was the solution to my problem.

Re: No Music
Thanks
Well the DVD is connected to the soundcard properly and all other music fromm every other CD I own works without a hitch, and thats every music cd, or game, etc. I dont mind that much though about the lack of music, but its just very odd that that I can not even see music files on the cd that are there. Windows Media player sees them and I can play them as music. Winamp can not see them, and I dont see them in windows explorer either. I have never in all my years seen this kind of thing
Thanks for the help though

Re: No Music
Yeah, similar problem, here. After installing ver. 1.19 patch, I was unable to get the music to play. Is there an east fix for this?
Thanks in advance.

Re: No Music
I turn the game music off and play the soundtrack to Independence Day with the default windows CD player running in the background. I assume that they'll fix the problem in the next patch, so this works for me. I tried using my MP3 player, but it made weird noises everytime I moved the mouse.

Re: No Music
I also don't have any music. I was able to play CD music in the background (the game ran without the CD), but the ships all moved super fast! Everything else seemed to work though. Haven't tried an MP3 player yet.

Re: No Music
The "fast-moving ships" thing is a different bug that many of us have reported. For at least some of us, it seems to be linked to using your modem for a while, then running SE4. Try rebooting, start SE4, and the ship animation should be normal speed again.

Re: No Music
He is not the first to say it is linked to some music playing programs also. I wonder what they have in common with modems that causes this? Is there some kind of accelerator program that they use to speed up something that happens to also affect the ship animation?
