Cannot hear any pilot voices... Help Needed!

I just installed Air Command and cannot hear any pilot voices. I also installed the patch with the same results-- no voices.

Voices are enabled as an option.
I can hear music.

When I double-click on the *.snd files in my Air Command directory, Windows Media Player comes up and gives me an error message saying *.snd is an incompatible format.

How can I hear pilot voices?
