Re: OT: Cheat codes for the ukulele
I had never heard that song before, but it sounds very familier. Was "Stairway to Heaven" ripped off from that song?

Re: OT: Cheat codes for the ukulele
He said it was composed by George Harrison. And that is the name of the George as in John, Paul, George, and Ringo... so that may be why it sounds familiar, you've heard a lot of his other stuff

Re: OT: Cheat codes for the ukulele
That is one of my favourite songs. Here is the more lively version I prefer

Warning: You have to bear the first few seconds with Elton John being patronising.

Well, duh. Even I know who George Harrison is. That's why I was suggesting STH was ripped off from this Harrison song and not the other way around. I'm not just talking about a tonal familiarity, I'm saying some of the actual musical phrasing sounds the same in both songs. But maybe it's just my imagination.

Re: OT: Cheat codes for the ukulele
That is Jake Shimabukuro. He is quite popular in Hawaii and has been recently performing elsewhere. I dare say that the clip above is good but in my opinion he is much better than that when he is performing for real. He does all kinds of amazing things with his uke.
