Hello everyone. Here is my next icon set that was on my list. The FJ-1 Fury. One of the first United States Navy jet fighters. Enjoy!

Re: FJ-1 Fury Icon set 1.0
I must say they look really good and that I also learned something new today, which I try to do every day no matter how important or trivial that item might be as long as it's useful. This to be sure is no more trivial than when Gud (Thanks again!) brought to my attention the UK HORNET/SEA HORNET Mk's as submitted in my last Patch submission.
Are these in the game?
I always thought that distinction belonged to the F9F-6 COUGAR. Well there you go! But remember no matter what, they still have to be put on a " BIG TARGET"!?!
Again they look really good and remind me of the F-86A SABRE.
Here's some background so might count this for Monday (I got the bonus since I started this post on Sunday- )

Did the F-86 Sabres too. Here is the link to them if you haven't seen them.

That honor belongs to the McDonnell FH/FD Phantom, for purpose built.
The FJ-1 was part of the "next generation" of jet aircraft that the USN ordered in 1945 to replace the FH/FD Phantom, which consisted of:
F2H Banshee -- a "enlarged" super Phantom -- the easy decision.
F6U Pirate -- a lightweight jet fighter for CVEs.
F6U Cutlass -- an "advanced" semi-tailless fighter.
FJ Fury -- a more conventional fighter design.
BTW, if you overlay a drawing of the P-51 Mustang and the FJ-1 Fury, you see some very close similarities.

It is the F-86.
The FJ eventually evolved to have a swept wing, and that was submitted to the AAF for one of their advanced fighter competitions, IIRC, and that swept wing proposal became the F-86, which in turn went "back to the navy" and became the evolved FJ-2/3/4.

Re: FJ-1 Fury Icon set 1.0
Sorry Don, got in hurry as I had an early morning today, my presence was requested at my son-in-law's commissioning ceremony's rehearsal this morning as I'll be " unpinning" him as a STS1/SS (E-6 Sonar Tech/Submarines) after serving 10yrs. as he transitions to becoming an ENS. (Officer Type 1ea. OMG) in the USN tomorrow morning. Only bad thing here is he's being assigned to the surface fleet to become a " target" on a DDG. Anyway...
Bad placement on my part, REALLY meant that question concerning the FJ-1 FURY.
Trust me, after every submission when the Patch gets released, I bounce it off my hard copy to see what made it in/what didn't and how it might've gotten changed in the "number areas". I HAVE BEEN FORTUNATE to have gotten in 95%+ of what I've submitted with minimal of changes or none at all to them, at times including just from my posts alone equipment wise.
I really personally appreciate that very much. THANK YOU.
I'll keep working on the ADMIN part.
Did also see the SABRE and they looked really good as well.
Not everything I like goes underwater!?!
Time for my walk!! Gotta beat Sunset!!
Regards,
Pat
