3.can a special battle be the last battle of a campaign?
4.any chance of a change in the code to make non-PBEM campaigns have anything other than a meeting engagement in the first 3 battles?

There is a campaigns section for campaign questions - thread moved from the main forum.
1) Special battles don't happen in the first few battles, AFAIR. I think it is in multiples of 6 when they are more likely to happen, and the 12th and other multiples will give more supply points etc.
2) The date is not advanced for the special battle (unlike the original SSI code AFAIR), but the battle is added to the total battle count.
3) Might could be.
4) I believe I removed in the latest WW2 patch to just the first battle as a meeter in non-PBEM. But right now it's the holidays and I don't really feel like digging through the code just to see if it was made so. (If you need to test, try a scratch campaign, buy HQ only, screw the moves down to 2 or 3 or so at set-up and click through to end game and see what you get.)
