Heeeeelp! (2.06 and 2.08 problem)
I'm trying to host and play in a 2.06 and a 2.08 game at once. I asked for help on how to do this earlier, and got info on how to do this that I thought would work, but....
I just tried to play a turn as Jotun Utgard, and discovered that the reported problem with Seithkona and Mooses was there.... I quit without saving and checked the .exe, and although the server was set to use the 2.06 .exe, my client shortcut was using 2.08.
I changed the shortcut to use the 2.06 exe, but now when I connect to my server with this exe the game crashes and tells me to upgrade to the latest Version....
Help?

Delete the Turn/lord file that you made with your 2.08 file.

'fraid that's not it. The .2h file is from 2.06, and the .trn was generated by the 2.06 host.
I was told that the 206 .exe is to be run from the same directory as 208, is this correct?

Re: Heeeeelp! (2.06 and 2.08 problem)
If there are ANY 2.08 files within reading distance of the 2.06 executable, the game will barf: This includes, but is probably not limited to, the entire newlords directory: If you've created *ANY* 2.08 pretenders, they must be removed from the newlords directory before starting the 2.06 exe. So if you made a new pretender for your 2.08 game using the 2.08 executable, the 2.06 exe will try to read it and barf. Gotta remove the files.

Re: Heeeeelp! (2.06 and 2.08 problem)
Reinstall 2 games :
Install Dom 2.02, patch to 2.06, copy the whole structure and your 2.06 game files to another, let's say "Dom2.06" folder.
Then upgrade to 2.08 the original install.
I did this when 2.06 went out to continue a game with people only having the demo, and had no problem.

I did exactly what you described and it works just fine for me. I have bunch of pretenders created with 2.08 and bunch of games played with 2.08 and I can still run 2.06 in the same directory and play MP games with it (haven't tried 2.06 SP though).

Deleting the files in my newlords directory did it, thanks.
