The Slow Cooker thread of Scallywag's Revival
Well, I've finally "gotten there" in terms of getting situated, so soon I shall beging the C++/Libs and artistic wranglings in terms of learning what I'll need to know from the very beginning to breathe some life back into this very worthy looking game as well as many others in an order to be determined. That said, this one and one other have some weight in their favor since I DID buy them and all,
This will take awhile, but it is in my interest to be as expedient as I can. One can check the Roguetemple board's general section to see a bit of what I mean on that...
Biggest thing is the forum continuing to exist whilst I scramble around!
Bid me some success folks, as luck won't exactly do the trick if I don't get fully done in the grand scheme of it all.

Re: The Slow Cooker thread of Scallywag's Revival
Right, bountiful problems of a technical variety and otherwise, but this is now much closer on my todo list---specifically right after I finish up some voice and sound work for a certain PC RPG. This is DEFINITELY NOT an abandoned project.
Handy in the meantime, would be for everybody to chime in with any and all specific problems or "off bits" they ran into while playing the game---if not play it again in the near future so as to have a fresh feedback perspective on it. As another teaching bit, I'm also aiming to manage the ability to recreate and/or migrate creations with this back and forth with Torchlight's PrEditor engine toolset as it is C# based versus the C++ lib of Scallywag's RAGE.
I intend for this to be THE form assumed, being able to modify existing stuff mixed with changes that need some programing, speedbump wise in terms my skill enrichment en route to being able to make my own games outright and/or enter into the industy proper at some level. As such, this is pretty important to me and I'm determined to manage this.

Re: The Slow Cooker thread of Scallywag's Revival
Progress: Not so much just yet. New PC has mostly settled down, and I somehow managed to find myself a game-dev centric apprenticeship of sorts that should begin pretty well any week now and run until early-mid September. I still aim to deal with the lot of this, likely interweaving Scallywag playing/doing into the mix when I've crashed into one too many walls on the apprentice learning and need a change of pace to recollect my sanity...somewhat!
It sucks that the order of events/backlog has resulted in nothing tangible for folks yet, but hopefully things will get situated sooner than later. I've also now got an Intuos4 art tablet to bring to bear on the lot of this---so that'll also bring another avenue for freshening some things up.
