Default Is this cheating?

Hi!
I was sitting in front of SEIV, planning a new turn for a game hostet by seiv-pbw.
And suddenly I thought about the following question:
"Is playing more than one race in a seiv-game cheating?"

Yes. Wihtout question it's cheating. Why do you even have to ask? Is there seriously anyone with the mental capacity to find the power button on their computer that doesn't know this is cheating?

And it's also impossible to do on PBW without having more than one login, which itself is against the rules and you will run the risk of having your accounts deleted if you are doing it.

It is certainly cheating, and suitable only for testing mods, AIs and shipsets.

It is definitely cheating EXCEPT ...

... in a game specifically and inentionally set up for such purposes, or, in a team game where teammates are allowed to take over for each other, if one should need to drop out.

Remember folks, SOME scenarios might involve a SPECIFIC setup that would allow for such a situation and NOT involve cheating!

It's not cheating if you are the GM in an RPG game.

My point was that if you have to ask, it's cheating. If it's any of these other posibilities you will already know it's not, so there won't be any question about it.

It seems that (nearly) everbody means it is cheating.
And I am thinking that it is cheating too.
But I was asking this question having something different in mind.

What about:
Two friends/brothers/sisters/etc. are playing in one game.
Making the decision to play together from the beginning of the game would be cheating in most of the games.
But imagine you were allied with one of them. And fighting the other. And then the two meet. The chance is very high that your ally will declare war on you. Because he wont fight his friend?

The problem with seiv is that there is no referee. Imagine a soccergame. One brother is keeper of the one team and the other is forward in the other team. It would definetly be cheating if the keeper would let his brother make a goal!?

I know that it is not possible to stop this.
You cannot prevent someone having two pbw account.
You cannot forbid brothers to play in the same game.
And it isnt a very big problem if they play together and declare war on you. Its just a game.

But believe me, the next time something like that happened to you, you will remember this thread. It happened to me (but not in seiv, until now \0/) and its very frustrating playing many hours and then see that blood is thicker than water.

GhoulLord,
Cheffe of the Ghouls

PS: I hope I made my opinion clear. And didnt wrote something different than I wanted because of my english.

How is that cheating? I play with my brother all the time on Starcraft against other people and they don't think it's cheating.

Also, no, the chance is not very high. I think most people, even with a family member, would honor your treaty and fight his/her brother/sister/friend if they wanted to.

it is not cheating if your taking over and doing a couple of turns for an empire you have a military alliance or partnership with because they are going to miss a few turns. But, After you have received permission from the Game Admin.

If your the game admin you must ask for permission from the players.

Accountablity must be prooven upfront.

To play 2 empires from the get go is a no no
