US OOB Wpn#233 Error ?
Weapon #233 is called 227mm M31A1 HE and is showing as weapon class 3 Team Weapon.
Should it not be Weapon Class 14?

Re: US OOB Wpn#233 Error
No, because of the Ottowa(?) treaty - no more cluster bombs post that date, HE only

Re: US OOB Wpn#233 Error
It's set up correctly and you can see the same thing in the British ( w204 ) , German ( 206 ) ( as well as Slovakia, Japan, France, Norway, Italy and Spain ) but the dates for the changeover from Cluster to HE are different due to when each country signed the Ottawa treaty.
The way the code works, HE rockets use WC3 and there are dozens of examples in various game OOB's.

Re: US OOB Wpn#233 Error ?
The treaty is real, and is hard coded into the game data. There is no switch to "turn it off".

Re: US OOB Wpn#233 Error ?
Graat, but the issue is what if we don't want to paly with it? It rules out mines and CM and a host of other things, and it's not a treaty anyone who has stuided these things knows will last the second a real war starts, it's all for the feel good effect. So since is a wargame, IS there a work around?

Re: US OOB Wpn#233 Error ?
1/ The game has had this incorporated for three years. Not sure how you just noticed this. From the " what we did" section of the GG
Quote:
Any nation that signed the Ottawa land mine treaty will no longer be able to purchase and place mines in defence after 1999. Additionally, any nation that signed the Convention on Cluster Munitions will no longer have cluster munition weapons in their game OOB's after the date that nation put the convention ban into effect. Depending on the nation that could currently be any time between 2010 and 2016 as there is a wide range of dates the various nations covered by the game have put the convention into effect. Conversely any nation that IS NOT a signatory to the Ottawa Treaty will still be able to purchase and place mines in a defensive battle and any nation that DID NOT sign the Convention on Cluster Munitions will still have access to cluster munitions in the game. Hopefully that explanation will cut down on the amount of erroneous "bug" reports.

2/ If we had left things the way they were pre- Ottawa treat with the mines and CM active someone would complain....if we take them out for the signatories someone complains-------- we can't win. It's even worse on the WW2 forum
3/ Your original complaint about the 227mm rockets was focused on the US OOB.... the USA did not sign the treaty and therefore there are both CM and HE 227 rockets available to the last date of the game along with mines as well as 155 FASCAM so what's the problem ?

Re: US OOB Wpn#233 Error ?
The problem is the weapon class as I stated, and the Treaty is just that, I am asking IF I change the weapon in question back to the class 14 will the game allow it to be used?
Three years, I haven't had the time to invest in the game like I did prior 2003, been a tad busy with real world military operations. So no I didn't notice that a feel good treaty was added to the game.
If the work around is chaning certain weapons to other classes and they function the same, then hey easy to adjust via MobHack. If not then well it's a limit I don't like would suggest a on/off toggle like there are for breakdowns, but that is my opinion and understand the code issues.

There are four 227mm rockets modeled in the US OOB. Three as CM and one as HE and all run to the end of game time so the USA player has units with CM right to the end... SO THERE IS NO REASON TO CHANGE THE WEAPONCLASS ON THE HE VERSION

Re: US OOB Wpn#233 Error ?
This all went sideways when Andy assumed this was a treaty question and that threw sand in the gearbox.
If it is not clear by now that there are CM units in the USA OOB and they are not a signatory or the Ottawa treaty and therefore everything is actually the way you think it should be then IDK what else to say. As of this current date and unless things change politically in the US then the game has three units of 227 CM ( 545, 813, 814 ) to the last date and one with HE ( 817 )
