Default Battle generator question

How can we edit the map features and placement of ships, so that we can simulate historical battles?

Kind regards,
Antonio

Antonio:

You can select the map that you want from the ones preloaded in the Battle Generator, but not actually create new maps.

When you make a new battle in the Battle Generator – it places the ships in a ‘Safe’ configuration – which is not necessarily want you want. That is what the Tweaker if for, to allow you to move and rotate the ships for the exact placement you want. You can also move the victory flags with the tweaker.

Hope this helps!

After reading your other post – I noticed that you may not have the game yet. It will not be long! But till then – you will not be able to use the Tweaker – it requires the full install. – just wanted to clarify this point.

Yes, you're right. I was figuring out what the tweaker is for. Does it allow to change the victory conditions of the scenario?

Cheers,
Antonio

Does anyone know of new scenarios posted anywhere? I waited for the patch/generator before I bought, figuring there'd be an explosion of historical battles posted

Still enjoying the game, just wondering if someone's making new battles.

Placing the victory markers in the correct place allows you to have some control over the scenario requirements for victory, but generally all new scenarios will be over when one side has a clear victory.

None submitted yet – and I put the three I made in the update. Guess I should make some more just to get things started….. I think the Salvo update is just coming into its stride….

I'd like to see the Nile as an option and Copenhagan would be fun, too with floating batteries and such. I might take a stab at the Nile when I get my copy of the game. Not sure how I would account for the French line being chained together though. Also I understand that you can't customize the map only the scenarios. This could prove difficult for coastal battles such as the above where the loacation of shallow water was important.

All in all looking forward to taking on some humans after only playing the demo. I've already threatened to shoot the mainmast off of Strider's flagship
