Armoured trains back again on battlefields
Russia starts to use Armoured trains back again on their supply lines on Ukraine in 2022
here you can see old AA armoured wagon from times of Great patriotic war slight upgraded 25mm AA guns replaced by 23mm. Probably taken from museum. Here photo of this type of wagon from WW2 so they were serial build at that times and as Flak wagons equip many armoured trains. And now they are back in business.
Here best page about soviet WW2 armoured trains with models of wagons and period photos:

Re: Armoured trains back again on battlefields
I'm thinking any number of things they didn't have in WWII could take them out today.
It's a sign of desperation if you ask me, at the same time an attempt to " build up morale", "you'll be safe on here you can take my word on that!" I'll stick to walking.
Regards,
Pat

Re: Armoured trains back again on battlefields
We have been asked to put armoured trains into SPww2 many times. Aside from being a curiosity in a scenario, they are the most useless things in game terms than slingshots. They only have any value if all the other side has is light weapons and unless you can guard every foot of track even just removing track spikes from the rails makes them vulnerable but there does seem to be an archaic mindset at work that is very strange ( perhaps not to Europeans but for sure to North Americans) and the comments made in Russian media about attacking the rail links to Kviv to stop Western leaders from visiting is so incredible you would think it has to be false but this confirms it happened

Quote:
Ukraine has praised the courage of three European leaders who made a long, hazardous journey by rail from Poland to Kyiv in a show of support as the city came under further Russian attack.
The prime ministers of Poland, Slovenia and the Czech Republic met Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky on Tuesday evening as a curfew began in Kyiv.

What century is this again ?
This was interesting

Re: Armoured trains back again on battlefields
Sorry but I’d say the archaic mind set is European since the Poles, Czechs, and Slovians were on the train to Ukraine.
Most North Americans have never even set foot inside a train lol.
