Demo Supply Help
I have the Gold demo and I was reading somewhere (on a fan site, certainly not the "Help"!) that if a ship with a repair bay is with a fleet that fleet will never be out of supply. However, this does not seem to be the case in the game I am currently playing. I was wondering if I had misread, or if this was written prior to Gold and the game has changed.
Help?

Re: Demo Supply Help
That depends on the design of the repair ship.
What you want to do is design a ship with lots of solar panels and supply tanks, and include that with your fleet.
Once you get the technology, you can replace all of the panels with a quantum reactor and get infinite supplies.
Ships in a fleet share supplies, so each turn your supply tanker will top off your warships, and generate more with the panels/reactor.

Re: Demo Supply Help
What you reading is a leftover from a very old Version:
There were possible to repair "Emergency resupply pod" which is destroyed after use. Thus a ship with emergency resuply and repair had for all practical reasons an unlimited supply. It was fixed and now, to repair such a component one must visit a spaceyard. Space yard ship still has this ability, I think.

Hmmm, ok. Is the space yard ship a hull type/size/designation, or any hull with a spce yard component in it? I've noticed my bases with the space yard don't need supply, but my ship hulls with it do.
Thanks for the help!

Re: Demo Supply Help
A space yard ship is just any ship with the space yard component. Also, bases have unlimited supply just for being bases.
In fact, bases are the one source of on-the-go resupply in the gold demo (don't have access to solar collectors or resupply pods IIRC). When you make a fleet include a space yard ship and some supply tankers. When you start running low on supply just stop and build a bare bones space station (one with nothing on it other than control components so that it will be built faster) and then have the base join your fleet. By the next turn your fleet will be resupplied and ready to go.
