Great Trick for Population Transport
If you are playing with the Transport Minister "ON" here is a nice trick.
Lets say you have a planet that you want to move population to but the Transport Minister is ignoring it because he is concentrating on another planet that already has a good population but is not full. Simply place a "Mine" tag over the planet/planets you want him to ignore and he will transport to the one/ones with a lower population and no minefield tag over it.
Let me qualify this by saying that I'm not sure at what point the Transport Minister will decide to switch to another planet on his own.
You must have under "Empire Status" then "Empire Options" a check nect to "Ship Movement", "Ships shouyld not move through minefields."
Ctrl T adds a tagged minefield.
Ctrl R removes a tagged minefield.

Re: Great Trick for Population Transport
An interesting tip. You should also email it to Ruatha and have it included in the FAQ's.

Re: Great Trick for Population Transport
Disclaimer: Be carefull when you put a Minefield Tag over a planet. Not only will the Transportation Minister ignore the planet..you may have problems with other Ministers or Ships.
Only recommend in early stages of game or in systems that are not critical for combat operations.

Re: Great Trick for Population Transport
OT but...
It's nice to see someone else in NC! By your occupation we might even be in the same location.
Considering where MM is at it's a wonder we don't see more from NC.

Re: Great Trick for Population Transport
I am fairly certain that MM is in San Francisco, CA. It is Shrapnel that is in NC.

Re: Great Trick for Population Transport
ok, to tag on to this thread... How can you adapt Ministers to your needs.
Like the population example, is there a way to set a strategy setting (simular to the combat), it would be neat if there was an option if you could set something like Population < 100, Condition > Mild, Atsmophere = (Breathable), Nearest.... That would be a nice option, I gues that should be a wish for down the road, another thing I would like is gathering Mines and Sats.

I think you can gather Sats. No-gathering of mines seems to be a balance issue.
