Default Not sure if this is a glitch but..................

When you fire at an inf group in a hex containing a wreck, the wreck sometimes takes hits instead of the group, personally if it is a glitch I say leave it it's more realistic. Apologies if this has been raised before.

The wreck is probably taking hits from area weapons. Any area weapon has can affect anything in the hex. The infantry may be taking supression hits and the vehicle solid hits. Take a look at the infantry and see if the supression had changed after the fire. This is a change from MBT where the area weapons show any hits on units other then the main target and the wreck is probably still viewed as a target.

don't think it was an area weapon unless tank guns are counted as such,as I say I like it regardless of if it should be there or not

Wrecked/abandoned vehicles should NOT be taking any hits as they are out of play. Apart from leaving a friendly unit in the same hex as an abandoned enemy vehicle or gun for a turn, to destroy it.

If that is what is happening - it is a minor buglet to investigate.

Cheers
Andy

Wrecks in my missions have often taken many hits - I even jump sometimes thinking where is the enemy tank I haven't killed?!!!??
Doesn't bother me as one could take cover near a wreck although I'd prefer a wreck increase the defensive value of the hex and not actually get listed as 'getting hits' that register in the sound and verbiage.

Some times you dont actually hit the hex you are aiming at (or with MGs you get some 'area fire' into adjacent hexes). If there is a live vehicle in an adjacent hex, that is probably what you hit not the wreck.

Sorry uncle joe - I know what you are referring too but many cases have been where I can clearly see no other units in adjacent hexes.
