Default Basewars!

I don't know how many of you guys here have ever heard or played the Basewars game for NES, but seeing that poster for the latest board game has me thinking about Basewars. I used to love playing that game for the NES.
If you have never played it, the idea for the game is simple. You play baseball, with combat robots. Instead of force outs, the two robots have to duke it out (controlled by the player[s]) to see if the runner is safe or out. Charging the mound with the whole team is illegal, because it would leave giant craters
The other half of the game is managing the 'bots by adding better parts (throwing arms for pitchers or outfielders, catching things, and the best, weapons).
I think that this would be a great title to remake for under the SG sportz thing.
I wonder if the old NES even works anymore... probably doesn't.

When a cat is dropped, it always lands on its feet, and when toast is dropped, it always lands with the buttered side facing down. I propose to strap buttered toast to the back of a cat. The two will hover, spinning inches above the ground. With a giant buttered cat array, a high-speed monorail could easily link New York with Chicago.
